Dr. Sandy Ko

Dr. Ko was raised in Vancouver and North Vancouver. Having been a member of many local organizations and attended schools locally, he is well connected to our community and he volunteers in various capacities. Dr. Ko and his wife have three children and enjoy cycling and hiking around the Lower Mainland.

With over 30 years experience in Vancouver, Dr. Ko has become thoroughly experienced in General Practice and Community Dentistry.

Dr. Vincent Tai

Dr. Tai was born in Hong Kong in 1960. He moved to Canada in 1968 and grew up in the local Vancouver area attending Eric Hamber Secondary School.

His undergraduate studies were in Microbiology and Fine Arts. He graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1985 with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree.

In the community, Dr. Tai has been on the Board Of Directors of the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of BC, serving as the Vice-President and Chairman of the Programs Committee. He has been involved with community dental health programs sponsored by the College of Dental Surgeons of BC and by SUCCESS, radio talk shows, and Dental Health Month exhibits at numerous community centers. He has been on the Consulting Staff at the Holy Family Hospital and is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Vancouver and District Dental Society. His interest is in restoring patients’ smiles and confidence using the latest technology in cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridges, and orthodontics.

Dr. Tai is married with two children and lives in the local Vancouver area. His family attends Fraserlands Church. He is a long-time member of the South Slope YMCA, and is active in karate, basketball, and watercolour painting. Dr. Tai’s artworks are on exhibit throughout the office, some of which he has created in the smiles of our patients.

Dr. Gary Wong

Dr. Wong was born in Toronto and moved to Vancouver at a young age where he attended David Thompson Secondary.  He continued his education at UBC where he majored in chemistry while completing his Bachelor of Science degree, and subsequently entered the Faculty of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Gary Wong has been providing general dentistry in the Vancouver area for over 25 years.  He focuses on providing a comfortable and positive  experience for patients and prides himself on helping them feel at ease during appointments.  Dr. Wong emphasizes patient education which empowers them to be proactive with their dental health and to make informed decisions.  He values the long term relationships he has developed with patients during his career, which has been his most rewarding aspect of dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, he devotes his time to personal fitness, cycling and travelling.

Dr. Warrick Yu

Dr. Yu was born in Hong Kong and moved to Montreal in 1990. In 1991, he relocated to Vancouver and called it home. He graduated from Windermere Secondary School in 1994. In 2005, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia, and he has been practicing
general dentistry since.
Currently, Dr. Yu is also a sessional clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia. He continues to attend continued education with interests in endodontics, oral surgery, and implantology. Outside
dentistry, he enjoys spending his time with his family, trying different food and travelling.

Dr. Pouran Rostamian

Dr. Rostamian practices periodontal treatment (gum-related surgery) and oral surgery. She
registered with the College of Dental Surgeons in 1999 and is a clinical instructor with the
dental faculty at UBC. Dr. Rostamian speaks English and Farsi.

Dr. Rostamian holds an interest in archaeology and ancient world history.

Michelle, Dental Receptionist & Certified Dental Assistant

Michelle has been a receptionist for over 20 years. Along with being a CDA, she is often the first person to greet you in our office. Her friendly and approachable attitude makes her a favourite for our patients to confide in. She often will go that extra mile to help you understand your insurance and treatment. She enjoys exercising and visiting relatives in Europe.

Lil, Dental Receptionist & Certified Dental Assistant

Lil has been a CDA for over 25 years. She holds the office Ironman Record for working the most consecutive days with an exceptionally good mood. Along with helping our patients understand their treatment, she has been voted “Best Phone Voice” by our patients because of her kind and gentle attitude. She is a soccer mom with two teenagers.

Cindy, Certified Dental Assistant

Cindy is our multilingual assistant with a cheerful laugh. She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin and she has worked with Dr. Wong and Dr. Ko for over 25 years. Cindy is a foodie and knows many of Vancouver’s dining hotspots. She is actively involved in her church and enjoys shopping and watching movies.

Heather, Certified Dental Assistant

Heather has been a CDA for over 30 years, most of which have been as Dr. Ko’s sidekick. She loves to bake and share her goodies at the office. Heather enjoys hiking, camping and gardening. She is a Scout Leader and an avid reader. She has a great memory of our patients and her warmth makes them feel very comfortable.

Anna, Registered Dental Hygienist

Anna was born in Taiwan in 1990 and moved to British Columbia in 1994. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at UBC. Anna has been practicing dental hygiene for over a decade. She is passionate about bringing change wherever she goes. She strives to empower patients to improve their oral and overall health. In the community, Anna has been mentoring UBC dental hygiene students since 2013 as a sessional speaker and practicum instructor. She also actively participates in various local outreach initiatives as well as refugee sponsorship. In her spare time, Anna enjoys exploring culture, foods, and places. She also enjoys cooking and hosting guests with her husband. Anna stays fit by playing basketball and working out. Anna looks forward to providing care with her warm,genuine and calming presence.  

Alp, Registered Dental Hygienist

Alp has been a dental hygienist for over 25 years. He enjoys catching up with our patients as he cleans their teeth. His love of cars and motorbikes has him restoring, collecting and even racing them throughout North America. He often goes above and beyond expectations to ensure patients receive the best care and advice.

Donna, Registered Dental Hygienist

Donna has been a dental hygienist for nearly 30 years working primarily in periodontal (gum specialist) practice throughout the Lower Mainland.  Donna has also worked and volunteered in numerous remote rural Indigenous communities across British Columbia and the Yukon.

Donna furthered her education and completed a combined Master of Public Health and Dental Public Health Specialty degree with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Upon completing her graduate studies, Donna relocated to the high Arctic to work as an oral health specialist and managed the Government of Nunavut Oral Health Program.  Furthermore, Donna played an enormous role overseeing large change management projects with Nunavut Telemedicine and Home Care / Long Term Care.

Donna continues as a clinical instructor at UBC Faculty of Dentistry, She is also actively involved with the provincial dental hygiene associations (BCDHA) as an Inter-professional Committee member, and with the national Canadian Dental Hygienist Association (CDHA) as a Board Director representing British Columbia.

Outside of dental hygiene, Donna loves cooking and staying active with running, hiking, swimming, and kayaking.
